생성형 인공지능을 적용한 인테리어용 텍스타일패턴디자인 연구-미드저니&2024-2025하임텍스타일 디자인 트랜드 중심으로

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, its impact on design is becoming increasingly evident, and interior design is undergoing a major shift in creative models. Generative AI, especially tools like Midjourney, are revolutionising the traditional design process by improving efficiency and creativity, expanding the possibilities of interior design. While there has been research into the application of image-generating AI in the creative industries, there is still a lack of understanding of its business potential and specific applications in interior design. Therefore, the main goal of this study is to analyse the strategies of innovative design models using image-generating AI, especially Midjourney, in interior design. Through an in-depth analysis of design trends and practical applications, we discuss the applicability of generative AI and its significance for future design, and propose application strategies to commercialise the technology and provide a new development path for interior design. The research method was to study generative artificial intelligence and Midjourney through literature research and network data, and to analyse the application of Midjourney in interior design. The theme of the 2024/2025 Heimtextil design trend was selected and a pattern design using Midjourney was developed. The scope of the research was based on the three themes of the 2024/2025 Heimtextil design trends, ‘Plant-based Textiles’, ‘Technological Textiles’, ‘Bio-engineered Textiles’, and three sets of interior textile pattern designs were proposed using the Midjourney expression method (/Imagine, /Blend, /Describe). As a result, we concluded that /Imagine is able to generate textile pattern designs for interiors with rich detail and creative expression through detailed text prompts. /Blend uses an intelligent fusion algorithm to balance the key visual features of the input images to create a unified pattern design. /Describe extracted usable text prompts from images. It was suitable for image analysis and style extraction. Through the synergy of expression methods, it can meet a variety of application scenarios from conceptual design to image analysis, and provide multiple exploration paths in the field of artificial intelligence-assisted interior textile pattern design, which can not only meet the needs of personalised idea generation, but also realize the efficient utilization and re-creation of existing materials, and is of great significance for interior textile pattern design. Therefore, these applications demonstrate that generative AI driven by Midjourney has significant future value in interior design to improve design efficiency, promote personalised design, and enable the intelligentisation of the design process. Midjourney's image generation principle is to generate ideas through the combination of images and text. AI can generate images with similar styles based on understanding and recreating input. Due to the uniqueness of the AI algorithm, the generated results may differ from the original pattern, but they can provide designers with new inspiration for colour, pattern, and layout, helping to speed up the design process and stimulate creative exploration. However, these issues in terms of originality, copyright ownership and legal adaptability of works produced by AI suggest that there is an urgent need to update and clarify the legal framework to cope with the challenges posed by rapidly developing AI technologies.
