중국 애니메이션 속 여우 캐릭터 디자인의 희곡 요소 응용

초록

In recent years, China has constantly paid great attention to the development of animation industry. With the support of the Chinese government, a number of commercial animations have been released since 2015, receiving much acclaim. In particular, the production of animations is developing vigorously from the new perspective of traditional Chinese culture, including a considerable number of animations integrating “Chinese opera”. It is of great significance to track how traditional Chinese culture has been utilized in the field of animation and how it has been reinterpreted with the advance of the times. Through the investigation review of the relationship between opera and animation, the paper strives to analyze the specific role of opera in animation character design. This study will compare and analyze the application of opera elements in the design of fox characters in the masterpiece of traditional opera animations, the Legend of Sealed Book (2018) and the White Snake: Origin (2019) through inheritance of traditional Chinese culture. The research results show that there are differences in the application of opera elements in the fox character design in the Legend of Sealed Book and the White Snake: Origin. The fox character in the Legend of Sealed Book integrates the characteristics of traditional Chinese folk decoration style and the elements of opera, and the character’s movements refer to the dance movements. While, the design of “Baoqing Workshop Master” in the “White Snake: Origin” is influenced by the design of foreign characters, with coexistence of opera elements and modern elements. In the meantime, its character actions show the combination of life actions and opera elements. By virtue of comparative analysis, it can be seen that the fox character design in the “White Snake: Origin” not only involves the characteristics of traditional Chinese art, but also has the diversity of expression. The integration of traditional Chinese opera elements into animation character design plays an important role in the development of Chinese animation industry, which is expected to make great contributions to the promotion and protection of traditional culture.
