Fabrication of enzymatic glucose biosensors by piezoelectric inkjet printing

초록

Piezoelectric inkjet printing holds great promise for fabrication of miniaturized bio-electronic devices such as biochips and biosensors because it is favorable for micro-patterning of biological molecules. Several enzyme- based amperometric glucose biosensors have been developed because of high sensitivity of glucose oxidase (GOD). Co-ordinated working of GOD and horse radish peroxidase (HRP) showed a synergistic effect, which could significantly amplify the response signal. In this study, enzymatic glucose biosensors based PEDOT-PSS/GOD/HRP composites were fabricated by piezoelectric inkjet printing. Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT)?poly (styrene sulfonate) (PSS), one of well known conducting polymers, was used as a electron transfer layer of glucose sensors because it has long term electrochemical stability and electro-activity in phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) [1,2]. The layer of PEDOR/PSS-GOD-HRP was deposited on an indium-tin-oxide (ITO) coated PET film.
