정부 공공기관 누리집 언어 실태 및 개선 방안 연구 -외래어 및 외국 글자 사용을 중심으로-

초록

This study investigates the terminology used on websites of government public institutions to analyze current practices and propose directions for enhancing public language use. We examined the terminology from 1,000 public entities, including central administrative agencies, local governments, affiliates, special corporations, and educational offices. Our analysis identified 360 terms that appeared repeatedly, with 169 written in foreign scripts and 191 in foreign words. And a list of 100 vocabulary words was selected for improvement based on frequency of use and familiarity. For these terms, we prepared alternative expressions, prioritizing those in common use across various government websites that required immediate refinement. Additionally, for terms lacking previous standardization, we developed substitutes that better fit the context and conveyed clearer meanings than existing alternatives. Consequently, we established a definitive list of 40 major alternative terms for languages ​​used in government public institutions.
