효율적 정보전달을 위한 날씨 애플리케이션의 시각 인터페이스 디자인 연구

초록

In today"s rapid changing IT markets, smartphones have come to take a larger part of the user"s lifes. Especially, live mobile weather forecasting application makes convenient use of the mobile application and it gets more frequent usage. There have been a pool of such applications developed for user"s convenience but developmental environment for each area/circumstance is different from one another, thus the interface designs of those applications show lack of consistency. This research studies about factors of visual interface designs of the 5 weather forecasting applications (Yahoo Weather, K-weather, Weather Poong, Howoo Howoo, and Hyundai Card Weather) that influence information delivery and user convenience, and the 4 core elements (layout, colour, typography, and graphic), referring to preference, usability, and reviews made on Appstore during Jan ～ Sep 2015. And, a survey was carried out to collect usability reviews on the applications, and the analysis on the result derived from the survey tells that consistent layout, natural colours, dynamic and balanced typography, and direct and vivid graphic are the influencial factors that enhance application usability. Furthermore, it suggests solutions for the designs in order to contribute to further studies on mobile weather forecasting applications.
