제페토 드라마에 대한 탐색적 연구: 데이터베이스 소비론을 통하여

The emergence of Zepeto, a metaverse platform, has led to the development of new storytelling content. Zepeto drama, a fictional work created with virtual devices provided by this platform, exhibits new characteristics while also remediating existing cultural content. This study conducted text analysis of Zepeto dramas, participatory observation in the Zepeto drama production crew, and in-depth interviews with creators to explore the distinct features of Zepeto drama and the experiences of its users. The results were analyzed using Hiroki Azuma’s database consumption theory. Zepeto drama creates a simulacral surface that prioritizes characters over the narrative structure. The database underlying this simulacrum reveals the unique aesthetic moe elements of Zepeto drama. Moreover, in the intersecting realm where the virtual presence of avatars converges with the narrative fiction of dramas, users immerse themselves in multiple personalities, navigating through multi-layered and fluid identities.
