인공지능 기반 로고디자인 툴의 가능성에 대한 탐색적 실험

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology in recent years, it is being discussed whether AI-powered design tools will replace human designers or whether design work will be newly defined. This study aim to explore the possibilities and limitations of AI-powered logo design tools. We recruited non-designer using AI tool, designer using AI tool, and designer using traditional method, and made them to design six logos for a certain startup, and evaluated the logos by online survey. 102 participants evaluated the preference and vision-delivery of the logos and speculated which logo were made by AI. As a results, a logo made by the non-designers using AI tool was most preferred, and a logo made by designers using traditional method was best evaluated at the vision-delivery. Participants couldn't distinguished which logos were made by AI tool, and expected that the human design would be better than the AI design. At FGI, three logo makers agreed that the AI design tool was productive but could not be adjusted in detail. AI design tool can produce the same result as expert, and it was confirmed that it is not easily distinguished from human made design.
