정문(鄭問) 만화 예술의 언어에 관한 연구 - ˂동주영웅전(東周英雄傳)˃ 중심으로 -

초록

This research reexamines the works of the prolific comic artist Chen Uen through the lens of traditional Chinese art. By analyzing relevant literature and scholarly articles from professional journals, the study bases its interpretative conclusions on documentary research complemented by visual image analysis of Chen Uen's seminal work, "Heroes of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty". Grounded in aesthetic principles, the analysis delves into the comic's artistic language-its imagery and text-to uncover embedded traditional cultural arts and identify cues relevant to contemporary Chinese comics.ﾠ The in-depth analysis of "Heroes of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty" reveals several key findings. Firstly, Chen Uen's comics utilizes the "combining meticulous and freehand styles" technique from Chinese painting to create his own unique visual style. Secondly, by reducing the number of panels, the composition effectively makes use of negative space, reflecting the Eastern aesthetic of "the beauty of leaving space". Lastly, "Heroes of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty" balances narration and dialogue, using narration to maintain objectivity on historical facts while employing dialogue to enhance immersion.
