CO₂ Sequestration Characteristics of Cement Mortars Incorporating ZnCl -Activated and Amine-Functionalized Biochar

초록

Wood-based biochar produced from sawdust via pyrolysis at 500 ℃ was activated with ZnCl2, resulting in an increased micropore volume. Furthermore, functionalization of the produced wood-based biochar with amine(MDEA) led to a significant enhancement in CO2 sequestration capacity. When the amine-functionalized wood-based biochar was incorporated into cement mortar, the density decreased, and both flexural and compressive strengths were reduced; however, the carbonation rate coefficient and carbonation depth increased. Therefore, within the scope of this study, cement mortar incorporating≥greater than or equal to 4wt% amine-functionalized wood-based biochar is considered particularly effective for sequestering atmospheric CO2, indicating its considerable for practical applications.
