최적 이론에 의한 중간언어 고찰: 베트남인 한국어 학습자의 /ㄹ/ 대치 현상을 중심으로
초록
This paper investigates Korean-learning Vietnamese pronunciation errors involving liquid consonant substitution and linking. Most of the previous studies accounted for the pronunciation errors in second language by the phonological correspondence between a native language and a target language. In fact, however, the phonological correspondence analysis can not account for all of the errors. For examples, /l/ can be placed at syllable onset position in Vietnamese whereas it is not allowed at syllable coda position. Therefore, it is an unexpected result that the nasal consonant /n/ substitutes /l/ at syllable onset position as well as at coda position. To account for this substitution pattern, this paper provides a constraint-based analysis. In this paper, it was shown that /l/-substitution at onset position triggered by Coda-Cond(L1) and Align constraint which demands every final stem-edge match to a final syllable-edge. This indicates that such phonological phenomena in interlanguage are subject to markedness constraints and faithfulness constraints in target language as well as their native language.
