초록

To reduce copper loss in transmitter (Tx) lines and to attenuate electromagnetic field (EMF) level against human beings and electronic devices, a segmented Tx line based wireless power transfer (WPT) system is newly proposed in this paper. Conventional long-length based Tx lines provide not only stationary charging when a railway vehicle stops but also dynamic charging when a railway vehicle is trying to start. If human beings or electronic devices are around such long-length Tx lines, the human beings are exposed to high EMF conditions and electronic devices may malfunction. Furthermore, coil-to-coil efficiency is degraded due to an additional copper loss caused by unused reactive power of the Tx line. To overcome such demerits of the conventional long-length Tx line, a two-segmented Tx line based WPT system using only one Tx inverter, which recognizes the position of the receiver (Rx), is proposed. To analyze the characteristics of the EMF and efficiency and compare the proposed line with conventional one, a finite-element-method (FEM) based Maxwell 3D simulation and a PSIM simulation have been performed. As a result, the efficiency of the proposed line using two 4.5m length lines is 0.6% higher than that of the conventional line using one 9.0m length line and the EMF level is significantly reduced in another Tx line region for the proposed one.
