Effective Multi-Thread Extraction Methodology

Over the past decade, open source software has grown rapidly in the software industry with its lower licensing costs and high accessibility. The Java programing language with thread-safe libraries and object-oriented modeling is one of the dominant development language used to implement open source software. However, due to concurrency errors such as dead-lock and data-race, correctness and reliability of Java-based open source software is deteriorating. Moreover, existing verification tools require extensive amount of time and effort in modeling multi-threaded code for verification. Therefore, this paper proposes an effective methodology with automated tool support to extract model of multi-threaded code from Java program to verify correctness and reliability of java based open source software.
