Effects of Robot Education on Self-Determination and Creativity of Students with Disabilities by Responsive Teaching

초록

This study examines the effects of robot education, using the reactive teaching method, on the self-determination and creative problem-solving abilities of students with disabilities. To this end, robot education consisting of 8 sessions was conducted for 60 elementary and secondary students with disabilities, introducing 3 programs across 6 classes. Robot education by the reactive teaching method was conducted for students with disabilities participating in the program, and pre- and post-tests were conducted. The research results are as follows. First, it was confirmed that self-determination had significantly improved, as evidenced by the pre- and post-test results. Second, the pre- and post-test results showed a statistically significant improvement in creative problem-solving ability. The robot education program applying the reactive teaching method solved various problems by planning, implementing, and evaluating goals by itself through active learning activities suitable for the development and interaction of students with disabilities. As a result, there was a positive effect on the research subject, and self-determination and creative problem-solving ability were improved. It is necessary to continuously enhance the robot education of students with disabilities through the reactive teaching method, transforming it into a more interactive educational approach that involves broader knowledge and actions.
