초록
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between frailty criteria and cognitive function. Specifically, the study determined physical function and cognitive function using frailty phenotype and K-MoCA. Participants of this study were 26 individuals (76.65±7.8 years old, female 73.1%) living in S city. The prevalence of frailty was 7.69% using frailty phenotype. Frailty and cognitive scores showed significant negative correlation(r=-.677, p<.000), and 6 cognitive domains except for fluency were significantly correlated with frailty scores. The weakness, exhaustion, and slow gait in frailty criteria were significant correlated with cognitive scores. The abstraction and delayed recall in cognitive domains were significantly different between frailty and pre-frail. Based on these results, muscle strength has potential to have relationship with cognition in frailty. The decline of abstractioin and memory is probably able to be preceded before the decline of other cognitive domains. The information would be able to prevent the frailty and develop the frailty assessment tools. Ultimately, It would help to improve qualities of life for elderly individuals.
