同伴者型 설화 속의 元曉 -해골바가지 사건의 새로운 해석을 중심으로-
초록
It means apostasy that Wonhyo(元曉) meets Yoseok(瑤石) princess, and give up that he stops going to China in Wonhyo’s life. But the apostasy and give up are not connected to failure, they work as occasions to raise his life and seek after truth. ‘Singing and dancing all around the village, he came to believe in Buddhism with songs’. That’s why he practiced the lesson ‘dancing about for joy and playing around’ in the Buddhist scriptures. The articles about Wonhyo in are what embodied his life. The keywords are accompany and loss. Wonhyo, who is described to accompany by someone, loses all the time. The loser corresponds to the partner. Wonhyo completes the partner’s role in the position of loser. And finally he becomes the winner together. That’s what Ilyeon(一然) describes in Samkukyusa. The skull affair is the key. Ilyeon didn’t include this story. “If with true mind, how can it be somewhere?” With this attractive saying the story is handed down powerfully. But I think Wonhyo’s varied saying in the Buddhist scriptures was possible to be made newly while being handed over. Even if it’s common phrase, when the condition of enlightenment makes sense with reality, it is handed down to others powerfully. The skull affair has better condition than any other anecdote. Lee Kwang-su(李光洙) and Kim Seon-woo(金宣佑) included the skull affair individually in , and . Lee Kwang-su wrote it as the affair happened in China, but Kim Seon-woo, in dream. It suggests the possibility of fiction. However in the other aspect of the story in the skull affair is impressive as the fiction like reality, and the reality like a fiction.
