UX Design Guidelines for AR Smart Glasses Based on User Requirements

초록

This research explores the UX optimization of AR smart glasses in daily use, aiming to derive design guidelines for consumers. With the development of spatial computing, AR smart glasses are expanding from industries to the mass market but still face problems such as operation complexity, low interaction efficiency, and information interference. To address these issues, this study analyzed the functional needs and experiential pain points of users in their 20s and 30s through surveys and in-depth interviews. Based on these empirical data, we structured the key experience elements that repeatedly appear during the functional execution process and identified the hierarchical progression of user experience from physical usability to ecological intelligence. Furthermore, we proposed a hierarchical “AR smart glasses UX design guideline” integrating four UX principles: understandability, controllability, consistency, and predictability. The results provide a systematic optimization path for AR products to move from the level of meeting the “physical foundation” to that of implementing “contextual intelligence,” offering a design direction for shifting user experience from “usability” to “trustworthiness,” and providing theoretical and practical implications for future wearable interaction design.
