초록
In accelerating digital transformation with contact-less society from the extended COVID-19, the older adults’ digital divided is widening. Thus, this study attempted to derive a solution to improve the accessibility of digital content for the elderly by confirming their difficulties in using food order delivery apps. To accomplish the purpose, this study explored the main flow of a food order and delivery app servicing in the domestic market and analyzed information perception differences between the elderly and the youth groups based on collected information from an eye tracker and interview. The experiment and survey were conducted on 32 people living in Seoul and the metropolitan area (12 older adults and 20 younger adults) recruited by convenience sampling. As a result, it was confirmed that the older adult group took significantly more time for each task than the younger adult group, and that the elderly's gaze tended to be distributed. Nevertheless, when the system provided simultaneously text information and picture information, and when the older adults were repeatedly exposed to digital content with a similar layout, they were able to reduce time to complete the tasks. As this study confirmed the learning effect of repetitive exposure, research on changes in digital utilization capabilities according to the degree of exposure of digital content is requested for the elderly in the future. It will be possible to contribute to developing a curriculum for the digitally vulnerable, such as the elderly, and the establishment of a digitally inclusive environment.
