초록

This study provides a detailed characterization of silica gel-based adsorbent-coated heat exchanger (ACHE) fins developed for enhanced adsorption water treatment (AWT). Samples with varying adsorbent-to-binder ratios were systematically examined using field emission scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. Spectroscopic analyses revealed that the adsorbent fraction plays a critical role in determining coating structure and adsorption performance, whereas the binder composition primarily determines mechanical robustness and durability. These findings offer valuable guidance for optimizing ACHE formulations to enhance heat and mass transfer efficiency, thereby supporting the development of next-generation, high-performance AWT systems. © 2026 Elsevier B.V.
