A Comparative Study of the Perfect Verb Tense between Japanese and its Corresponding Korean through Semantic and Syntactic Analysis

초록

The results of this paper suggest that two Japanese sentences correspond with two Korean expressions in the perfect verb tense. However, two Korean expressions corresponding with one Japanese sentence in the perfect verb tense did not seem to be supported in the current study. To present this fact, this paper argues that the Korean in (7b) corresponding with the Japanese in the perfect verb tense can be considered as the event perfect. The Korean in (7c) can be interpreted as containing a meaning of action perfect as well. Also, the study observed that the action perfect in Japanese, like (7a), can grasp an event perfect meaning, as well as an action perfect at the same time. This paper also specified that the perfect verb tense in Japanese, like (7a), can have two syntactic structures, both bi-clause and mono-clause.
