탄소순환 건설 재료 개발을 위한 표면 개질 커피박 바이오차의 제조 및 시멘트 모르타르 적용에 대한 연구
초록
In response to the growing demand for sustainable carbon reduction technologies in the construction sector, this study explores the potential of biochar derived from spent coffee grounds as a carbon-sequestering construction material. To enhance CO2 adsorption performance, the biochar was chemically activated using zinc chloride (ZnCl2) and further modified with N-methyldiethanolamine (MDEA). Three types of biochar samples were prepared based on the surface modification process: non-activated (C500NZC), ZnCl2-activated (C500ZC), and MDEA-modified (C500ZCM). SEM analysis confirmed that the porous structure of the biochar was maintained even after MDEA modification. EDX analysis verified the presence of nitrogen in the C500ZCM sample, suggesting successful incorporation of nitrogen-containing species. Furthermore, FTIR analysis showed that nitrogen-containing functional groups (N–H) were reintroduced on the surface of C500ZCM, which are known to enhance CO2 adsorption capacity. These findings indicate that surface modification through chemical treatment is an effective approach to improving the CO2 adsorption performance of coffee ground-derived biochar, supporting its applicability as a sustainable construction material.
