PBL을 활용한 디자인 수업의 학습효과 연구

As the world have changed, the definitions and roles of design should has been changed. In the rapidly changing 21C society, the practical work-based education is core task in design education field. This study was carried out to develop a practical work-based design PBL(Problem Based Learning) and by applying it to look into the learning effects in University students. For these purposes, the study examined PBL based on the constructivist theory and develop a teaching program reflecting industrial demands in a design class. As the research methods, to verify the matter of learning effects, the design PBL program was performed for 8weeks in the Design class of the H University in the Seoul Metropolitan area and carried out survey. The analysis results show that there were significant differences in the mean scores of their learning effects(learning motivation, learning flow, learning satisfaction) according to types of learning. As the task went to the practical work-based problem, students understood the problem with tension and showed a responsible attitude toward the work-based problem. The design teaching program applying PBL satisfies the essential need of the industry. In addition, it is effective on improvement of creative design thinking for systematic problem solving. In the future, this study is expected to provide a foundational study on design education.
