The government has selected Changwon National Industrial Complex as a smart industrial complex and has expanded various support policies to spread smart factories. However, SMEs are hesitant to introduce new systems due to increased costs, lack of understanding, poor technical reliability, and inconvenience in use. Among them, the inconvenience of use is a big reason why the introduction of this service is delayed. The mobility of the essential systems is being delayed, and structural studies of mobile interface research for smart factories are not enough yet. This study explored the problems and solutions by applying the service design methodology to solve the hesitation and low reliability of the technology level when the manufacturing plant of SMEs adopts the smart factory system. We also conducted a user study to derive insight into the structure of the customized interface for the mobile version of the platform. First, we studied smart factory and manufacturing data analysis platform technology, and researched the reality of smart factory adoption by SMEs. After defining the smart industrial complex, we conducted a face-to-face survey. In the field survey, the equipment management status of SMEs in Changwon National Industrial Complex was observed, and an in-depth interview was conducted for factory workers and experts. The data collected through the survey were analyzed using the service design methodology, and the users were categorized and the personas set up. As a result of the study, the expert interviewer found that manufacturing data can be selectively collected using technical methods, and big data can only be constructed with data that is open to the public due to security issues. In our analysis of users, we found that workers’ views on monitoring manufacturing data differed by their job. Therefore, in the case of the mobile interface, it is not necessary to provide the same information to all stakeholders, but the information shown by each authority should be different, and the interface design should be customized according to the user type. This study is a basic research on manufacturing data analysis platform and user application. Through this research, it is intended to help the SMEs’ competitiveness in the complex by increasing the usability of the system, contributing to the constant management of equipment and quality control of the products.
