초록
Digital tachograph (DTG) is a device that records dangerous driving behaviors, potential causes of accidents (e.g., speeding and sudden acceleration/deceleration), and sudden lane change. Accidents are caused not only by these dangerous driving behaviors but also by the complicated interactions between dangerous driving behaviors and road geometry. This study aims to predict and analyze the number of accidents caused by dangerous driving behavioral data related to road geometry. Road geometry was included as an interaction term in a negative binomial regression model to identify how the relationship between dangerous driving behaviors and accidents varies according to road geometry. Results showed that the risk of accidents increases when downward slopes, speeding, or sudden lane change increases. Moreover, the risk of speeding increases in curvatures, and the risk of sudden lane change increases in upward slopes. These results indicate that slope and curvatures make dangerous driving behaviors riskier, and the criteria and enforcement against dangerous driving behaviors should be toughened in sections having steep slope or sharp curves.
