엘리트 운동선수를 위한 진로 전환 및 경력개발 프로그램 운영사례 분석: 대한체육회 ‘선수진로지원 사업’을 중심으로

초록

This study examines the Korea Sport & Olympic Committee’s career transition and career development programs for elite athletes. The purpose of the study is to analyse their operational status, and to derive policy implications for enhancing the quality of the programs. The study draws on evidence from a literature review, and this is supplemented by data from a series of in-depth interviews. An analysis is conducted using Weber’s (1985) qualitative content analysis method and organised by the two principal themes: : the operational status and practical conditions (e.g., budget requirements, detailed operational systems, feedback mechanisms) and athletes' participation experiences (e.g., participation pathways, satisfaction, effectiveness, and follow-up management). The study indicates that a modular curriculum should be developed to overcome the limitations of sporadic career competency training and to facilitate systematic career transition support. The study reveals that consideration should be given to requiring athletes to complete career awareness education as a prerequisite for registering with the KSOC to expand the project and increase its visibility gradually. The study also identifies that addressing the shortage of vocational counsellors requires the active use of mentoring programs to train career counselling professionals. The study concludes that it is necessary to sophisticate their performance evaluation system with a focus on feedback mechanisms.
