국립지방박물관의 전시 공간 변화 연구 - 특성화 전략에 따른 전시 공간 변화를 중심으로 -

초록

The National Museum of Korea has formulated plans for specialized exhibitions in local museums, such as the "Establishment of Specialization for Local Museums Exhibition Revamp Plan" (2008) and the "Mid- to Long-Term Plan for Specialization in Local Museums" (2018). As a result, the permanent exhibition spaces have undergone significant changes. The study aims to find out the common characteristics of these spatial transformations. It analyzes how the contents outlined in the strategy influenced changes in the exhibition spaces of regional national museums by examining RFPs (Requests for proposals) for exhibition renovations and conducting on-site surveys. A survey of 10 regional national museums with significant changes shows the composition and area of exhibitions. In terms of exhibition composition, the exhibitions were generally organized chronologically before, but after the renovation, they were changed to thematic compositions to emphasize the specialized strategy. As a result, 6 out of 10 cases have adopted thematic compositions, emphasizing the specialization strategies. In terms of exhibition area, when increased, the special exhibition space and part of the public area are included as permanent exhibition areas, expanding them into thematic exhibition spaces for the specialization strategy. Even if it has been maintained, the exhibition space of the specialized strategy is clearly created. This indicates that when a museum renovates its exhibitions with the specific aim of "applying a specialization strategy", the expansion of the exhibition area, which constitute the core of the museum's territory, must be taken into account.
