The Impact of Learnability on Continuous Use Intention of Digital Wayfinding Systems in Senior Welfare Centers

초록

This study examines how older adults’ perceived learnability at first use of a digital wayfinding kiosk in senior welfare centers shapes technology acceptance and continuous use intention. Building on an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), we tested a serial pathway (learnability → perceived ease of use → attitude → continuous use intention) using a field survey of 156 adults aged 60+ in Shanghai immediately after completing an information-retrieval task. Hierarchical regression and PROCESS bootstrapping (Model 6) supported the hypothesized relationships; the serial indirect effect was significant (0.093, 95% CI [0.034, 0.125]) while a remaining direct effect indicated partial mediation. The findings imply that low-frequency public kiosks should reduce early learning costs by simplifying information structure, making entry points salient, and providing stepwise feedback and assistance.
