내포 지역 앉은굿의 가시적 표상 분석 - 장엄(莊嚴)과 지물(持物)을 중심으로 -

"This study examines the patterns of ritual symbols in Anjeungut(앉은굿) of Naepo region and analyzes their symbolic meanings. To this end, the study explores the process of Antaekgut(安宅굿), the basic type of Anjeungut, along with Chukgwi(逐鬼, exorcism) and Haewon(解冤, resolution of grievances). The primary subjects of analysis are Jangeom(莊嚴, the symbolic ritual adornments) in the Gyeongcheong(經廳, ritual hall) which transform the ritual space into a sacred sanctuary and Jimul(持物, the ritual implements) held by the ritual officiant. The Naepo cultural sphere on the northwestern coast of Chungnam (including Taean, Seosan, and Dangjin) has seen a rising influence of Bosal (菩薩, a female shaman) and a declining number of Beopsa (法師, a male shaman), a trend consistent with other regions in Chungcheong Province. Despite these shifts, the activities of Beopsa who perform Anjeungut have been steadily transmitted in the Naepo region, maintaining its distinct shamanic identity. In this region, Antaek is the most fundamental ritual of Anjeungut; depending on the characteristics of the rituals following Antaek, the Gyeongcheong is newly arranged and additional symbols are crafted. A notable feature is the diverse manifestation of paper symbols and Singan (神竿, spirit poles) according to the purpose of the rite. This research holds academic value in that it systematically classifies the Jangeom and Jimul appearing in the Antaek, Haewon, and Chukgwi processes of Naepo Anjeungut and elucidates their meanings."
