VR HMD 기반 메타버스 서비스 수용 저항에 미치는 요인: 혁신 저항, 리스크, 대체·보완 가능성 요인을 중심으로

This research focused on the low utilization rate of VR HMD-based metaverse despite the societal activation of metaverse services. In light of this, the study aimed to examine user resistance perception in VR HMD-based metaverse and explore its academic and in-dustrial implications. For this purpose, independent variables included innovation factors (relative advantage, perceived compatibility, perceived complexity) and risk factors (physical risk, financial risk), as well as alternative complementary factors (substitutability, complementarity). As mediating variables, the study incorporated the resistance in-tention of VR HMD-based metaverse innovation, and the dependent variable was the in-tention to use. The analysis results indicated that perceived complexity, substitutability, and complementarity statically influenced the resistance intention to VR HMD-based metaverse positively. The resistance intention was confirmed to negatively impact the intention to use VR HMD-based metaverse. Through this discussion, the study suggests the need to reduce the complexity of VR HMD devices and develop user-friendly devices to enhance user innovation resistance and convenience.
