대학혁신지원사업 자율성과지표 내용분석: 전공자율선택제를 중심으로

· Research topics: This study examines the performance indicators related to the Autonomous Major Selection System embedded in the University Innovation Support Project (UISP) plans, with the aim of proposing improvements to the current performance management framework. · Research background: Although the system has gained prominence amid demographic decline and the expansion of student-centered academic structures, existing performance management practices remain heavily quantitative and output-oriented. · Differences from prior research: While previous studies have primarily focused on individual university cases or student satisfaction, this study differs by systematically examining the logic of performance indicators for the system at a policy level, centering on the autonomous performance indicators within the UISP, a national funding initiative. · Research method: The study conducted a content analysis applying the logic model framework to the 2023 UISP plans of 16 four-year universities located in the Seoul metropolitan area. · Research results: The analysis identified four categories of environmental factors: academic system, curriculum, faculty–student support, and external competitiveness and collaboration. Most indicators emphasized outputs, such as curriculum development and participation counts, while outcomes were largely limited to student satisfaction measures. · Contribution points and expected effects: The study argues for a shift from short-term quantitative performance metrics toward a framework that captures qualitative improvements and meaningful value-added outcomes for both universities and students.
