국내 인터넷연구의 발전적 모색 II: 2005~2010년까지 커뮤니케이션 학술지에 게재된 인터넷연구에 대한 메타분석

초록

With using meta -analysis, this study reviewed 345 academic papers regarding Internet examined by Korean communication scholars during 2005 to 2010. Data used in this study was limited to 6 major communication journals in Korea. Comparing this meta-analysis with the meta-analysis on Internet(1995~2005) that previously analyzed in 2005, this study tried to find out characteristics by year and discuss future issues on Korean Internet studies. The result indicated that Internet studies had conducted during 2005~2010 were mainly belonged to the second dimension (Internet use & user) and the third one (Internet effect) of a development model of media research. The first dimension (defining Internet itself) of model was likely to decline and the fourth one of it had increased a little bit. Internet studies in Korea were likely to have a certain tendency conducted by quantitative research methods and to extend into a variety of research targets such as portal, UCC, IPTV, etc. In order to develop Internet study in Korea, academic community should encouraged that researchers needed to be communicate with one another in more academic driven atmosphere like every member feels free-laden criticism and be able to discuss any items regarding Internet.
