A Low-Profile Millimeter-Wave Magneto-Electric Dipole Bowtie Antenna with Rectangular Slot

In this work, a low-profile millimeter-wave magneto-electric dipole bowtie antenna with a rectangular slot is presented. The proposed antenna shows a wide bandwidth and low-profile characteristics. When adding to the conventional slot with the rectangular slot, the center frequency is significantly moved to the low frequency direction from 32.3 GHz to 27.5 GHz. The S-11 bandwidth of the element shows the frequency ranging from 25.3 GHz to 29.7 GHz. The gain variation fluctuates only 0.6 dB ranging from 4.71 dBi to 5.57 dBi. The S11 bandwidth of the antenna array achieved the frequency range from 25.75 GHz to 30.63 GHz. The 3-dB gain bandwidth shows the frequency range from 24.25 GHz to 33.9 GHz with a peak gain of 15.8 dBi.
