공공시설물의 시각요소를 활용한 관광 아이템 개발에 관한 연구 - 맨홀뚜껑 그래픽을 중심으로 -

초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the extension of the visual functions of public facilities and to develop new tourist items available for Korean culture. It's specifically meant to improve the accessibility of Korean culture for foreign tourists. Domestic and foreign literature and earlier studies were analyzed, and an experimental research of our country and foreign countries was implemented. An on-the-spot survey was conducted, and data were gathered over the Internet. And then characteristics of the graphics of manhole covers were analyzed to discuss the additional availability of manhole cover graphics. The findings of the study were as follows: Geometric patterns were extremely prevailing in the graphics of domestic manhole covers. The introduction of symbolic graphic seemed to be necessary to develop the covers into tourist items. In terms of schematization, the utilization of natural environments and traditional culture is required, and it will also be effective to capitalize on Hallyu stars to produce intriguing tourist items. In the future, full-scale research should be implemented from diverse angles.
