This study aimed to develop and implement a problem-based learning (PBL) teaching support program using the Future Workshop, and to explore facilitation strategies for effective management. The Future Workshop is a method of group activities conducted under facilitators’ facilitation n which participants go through three stages –critique, fantasy, and implementation– to find appropriate ideas or solutions for the future. This study designed and developed a Future Workshop following the ADDIE model and was conducted with 15 participating professors who applied for the teaching support program. A program satisfaction survey was conducted immediately after the workshop, and data on the overall development and operation of the Future Workshop were collected and analyzed through facilitators’ participant observations. This study is significant in the following aspects. First, it presents a participant-centered workshop model that can be applied to teaching support programs at universities by reporting on the development and implementation of the Future Workshop. Second, effective facilitation strategies were derived from participant observations. Finally, this study demonstrates the effectiveness of the Future Workshop as a faculty support program. However, the study suggests empirical research to demonstrate the Future Workshop’s educational effectiveness and to establish a theoretical foundation to support this.
