한일 근대어 자료로서의 『いろは引朝鮮語案內』

초록

The purpose of this study is to observe the content and background of the book Irohabiki Chosengo Annai(いろは引朝鮮語案內), which was published in Japan in 1904. This study considers the book to be valuable research material in regards to both the Korean and Japanese languages. This book shows its uniqueness in that Korean is written in katakana (片仮 名) rather than Hangul. Therefore, in order to properly use this book as research material, it seems that first of all it is necessary to understand the principle of the katakana notation method for the Korean language that is used in this book. An approach to deciphering the Korean katakana text is essential to this study. Through the research of this study, it was found that the Korean katakana notation in this book provided valuable information in terms of historical Korean phonology and vocabulary. Additionally, the Japanese language in this book reflects the characteristics of modern Japanese that was used during the Meiji (明治) period, and it can be used as a resource to investigate the various problems faced in both the grammatical and lexicological aspects of the period.
