Biomechanics of Open Stance Forehand Stroke in Tennis: Expert VS Novice

초록

The purpose of this study is to explore biomechanical differences in the tennis open stance forehand stroke at skill level. Participants were divided into expert(n=5) and novice(n=5). The task was to strike a tennis ball with maximum power and accuracy, repeated 3 times. Data analysis was conducted in P1 [take-back to impact time(t0)] and P2 [t0~ follow-through]. Center Of Pressure(COP) variability was calculated for P1 and P2. Free Moment(FM) peak(valley) value, the interval between t0 and FM peak(valley) time, and FM at t0 were analyzed. Fz ratio from P1, t0, and P2 were compared. In P1 and P2, COP variability was higher in both medial-lateral and anterior-posterior directions for the expert. In both groups, the valley and peak value of FM appeared in P1 and P2, respectively, but the absolute sizes of the valley(-) and peak(+) values were larger in the expert. The interval between t0 and FM peak/valley time was shorter for the expert. The Fz ratio in P1 and t0 were smaller than 1 for the expert and close to 1 for the novice.
