초록
Chloride-induced corrosion significantly reduces the durability of reinforced concrete by promoting steel corrosion and concrete cracking. This study investigates a strip-type paper sensor for visual chloride detection based on silver chloride (AgCl) precipitation. The sensors were fabricated using Whatman No. 4 filter paper sequentially immersed in silver nitrate and potassium dichromate solutions (0.01–0.5 N) and oven-dried at 60℃. Their performance was evaluated with NaCl solutions ranging from 30 to 1000 ppm. Results showed that the 0.05 N sensor produced distinct AgCl precipitation at high chloride concentrations but negligible response below 70 ppm, whereas the 0.01 N sensor improved sensitivity at low concentrations while showing less defined precipitation at high concentrations, indicating that sensor performance depends on solution concentration. Future work will focus on sensors prepared with concentrations below 0.01 N and detailed characterization of AgCl using SEM, EDX, and mapping. These findings provide a foundation for developing practical visual chloride sensors suitable for field applications.
