중국어 모어 화자의 한국어 음소 변별에 대한 연구
초록
The goal of this study is to understand native Chinese speakers` perception pattern of Korean phonemes. I performed listening experiment on 28 Korean-learning Chinese, consisting of 14 beginner and 14 intermediate-level learners, and analyzed the relative difficulty of each phoneme identification. The results of this study showed that the place feature of word-final stop consonants was the most difficult for the Chinese speakers to perceive. In particular, velars and bilabials tended to be confused in word-final position. Lenis consonants were frequently confused with aspirated and fortis, in word-initial and word-medial respectively. Many subjects recognized overlapping word-medial nasals as a single consonant, and a single liquid consonant as geminate. Among vowels, they frequently confused /o/ and /u/, and recognized /Λ/ as round vowels. The intermediate-level leaners showed better discrimination among word-initial consonants than the beginner-level group did. However, in case of word-final consonants and vowels, there was no obvious difference between two groups. These results suggest that the phonemic categories of L1(first language) usually exerts a continuous influence on the perception of L2(second language) consonants and vowels.
