<초속 5Cm>, 거리와 속도의 영상미학

초록

This paper is to investigate Storytelling Strategy in Shinkai Makoto's animation, <5 Centimeters per second>. Shinkai Makoto, who constantly investigated not ‘able to express by animation’ but ‘able to express only by animation', achieved media speech by making not ‘motion’ but ‘between motion and motion' creatively. This work is organized into three sections in omnibus form. These three animations which form the entire work has completion independently and also as the whole piece in the same time. This paper investigated the realization aspect in a being's solitude resulted by the distance between being and velocity in inner side in this work. Also, this paper investigated the media aesthetics in Mono no aware which was realized in this process. Even though this work has accomplished a surpassing media aesthetics, it is stuck behind the ambiguous autistic sensibility. It is because self and others is simplified into a relationship between just you and me, and it only focuses in their chaste love, denying any relationship with the rest of the world. Therefore this work is limited to the peculiar autistic world of Sekaikeigye in spite of the outstanding achievement of media aesthetics.
