잠재프로파일 분석(LPA)을 통한 청소년의 인터넷 사용 유형과 사이버비행의 관계

초록

This study examined latent patterns of Internet use among adolescents and the association between these profiles with cyber delinquency perpetration and victimization. South Korean data from the fourth wave of the International Self-Report Delinquency Study(N=2,239) were used. Latent profiles of Internet use were derived based on indicators of knowledge and information acquisition, relationship formation, and entertainment/leisure. The relationship between meaningful profiles of Internet activity and cyber delinquency were examined using binary logistic regression. The main findings are as follows. Three latent profiles of adolescent Internet use were classified: ‘relational-use’, ‘comprehensive-use(low)’, and ‘comprehensive-use(high). Logistic regression analysis confirmed that membership in the comprehensive-use(high) profile had greater risk of experiencing sexual cyber delinquency perpetration and victimization than the comprehensive-use(low) or relational-use profiles. Adolescents classified in the relational-use profile had greater risk of experiencing non-sexual cyber delinquency perpetration and victimization than the comprehensive-use(low) profile. A in-depth understanding of how the young generation make use of the Internet as an integral part of their daily lives can guide ways to design customized interventions that accommodate the needs of adolescents.
