중력모형을 활용한 한국 ODA의 업종별 수출효과 분석

Since joining the DAC member in 2010, Korea has officially become a donor country. Under the recent downturn of the Korean economy, Korea’s ODA　has been required to contribute to our economy as well as an international society. The objective of this study is to present the effect of Korea’s ODA on exports to its recipient countries. This paper examines the following issues: First, what is the contribution of ODA to exports classified by industries, including the service sector which has not been addressed in previous studies? Second, to what extent is the observed rise in exports attributable to the type and sector of ODA? Our findings show that Korea’s ODA contributes to increasing exports to recipient countries. With respect to export industries, service and consumer goods were positively correlated with ODA, however, capital goods, intermediate goods, and raw materials were not significant with ODA. For an empirical verification, our study conducted the panel data analysis with 148 recipient countries from 1991 to 2017. The data set was collected from DAC, Koreaexim bank and the World Bank. The relationships to be explored are estimated using two-way fixed effects, Hausman-Taylor, and two-stage least squares model.
