사용자 경험 조사를 통한 포터블 덴탈 엑스레이기기 디자인 개선방향

초록

With increasing life expectancy of human beings and growing interest in the healthcare industry, the paradigm of medical practice extends, rather than staying at treatment, to disease prevention and health management. As aware that patient safety and medical incidents are possibly from poor device design, medical device manufacturers have been asked to implement usability examination in their medical device development process. Hence, this study aims at drawing development direction of portable dental radiography equipment based on quantitative and qualitative usability tests to reflect users’ point of view. User experience of the device was measured with a working prototype and a questionnaire developed through reviewing and refining questions with four UX designers. Using the questionnaire consisting of questions of expected usability to figure out preference of gun type products to camera type products, and experienced usability to find out users’ level of satisfaction in using the prototype, ten UX designers gathered through convenience sampling were surveyed. During the survey, they were asked to answer to the questions right after performing given tasks by specific use flow of the product, were observed by our research team and interviewed about why they did certain behaviors or gestures. In the expected usability part, the results of a Kruskal-Wallis test and a Mann-Whitney test with the Bonferroni correction method for the verification of post-analysis confirmed difference in ranking between two camera type and two gun type products. In the experiencef usability part, the results of a Spearman Rank Correlation test identified two factors of collimation and the cradle both of which have the same influential factors of device weight, effect sound, and the shooting button. Accordingly, focusing on the five factors, more specific directions of development and improvement were derived and suggested based on user opinions from interview and observation.
