We propose a codebook-based multiuser beamforming framework specifically designed for mixed near- and far-field vehicle-to-everything communications. We focus on designing an interference-aware beamforming codebook that supports efficient multiuser communication by enabling fast selection of analog beamformers from predefined codewords in rapidly time-varying vehicular environments. An analytical framework is introduced to predefine analog beamformers using user location information in mixed near- and far-field channel environments. We propose two codebook design methods that effectively mitigate interuser interference even when users are aligned in the same angular direction. Numerical results confirm that the proposed analog codebook improves the spectral efficiency of the multiuser system in dynamic vehicular environments without explicitly estimating the extremely high-dimensional wireless channels. © 1967-2012 IEEE.
