육아스포츠 예능에서의 성장 서사와 재미 구현 양상 연구*: <병아리 하이킥>의 태권도 활용을 중심으로

초록

This study explores the potential of Taekwondo in parenting sports variety shows by analyzing Chick Highkick as a “mediated reality” text through the Bildungsroman structure. Results indicate that while the initial growth narrative was well-established, the program failed to organically integrate Taekwondo's essence into actual growth outcomes in later stages due to the “softening” of training and artificial production. Structural malfunctions—specifically, excessive intervention from the “counseling room” and a “one-top” coaching system—stifled independent growth and caused a regression into conventional parenting show tropes. The study suggests: ① developing authentic growth narratives via a stepwise reinforcement model highlighting “self-discipline”(Geuk-gi) and “etiquette”(Ye-ui); ② securing genre differentiation by balancing spatial composition and entertainment mechanisms; and ③ establishing specialized characters through functional labor division among staff and utilizing the “narrative assets” of professional martial artists.
