친환경 행동에 관련한 온라인 액티비즘의 매개적 역할 탐구: 지구온난화에 관련한 인지적･정서적 요인과 친환경 행동 간의 관계에 미치는 영향을 중심으로

The current study conducted an online survey with 367 adults to explore a mediating role of online activism in relations among cognitive factors, an affective factor and pro-environmental behaviors. The cognitive factors included problem recognition, constraint recognition and involvement and the affective factor referred to environmental guilty about the issue of global warming. The pro-environmental behaviors in this study mainly dealt with carbon reduction behaviors. The results analyzed the associations among predictor variables and the dependent. Cognitive factors of problem recognition(+) and constraint recognition(-) showed significant relationships with carbon reduction behaviors. Online activism also showed a positive association with carbon reduction behaviors. When analyzing the mediating role of online activism, online activism showed a partial mediation effect among cognitive factors of problem recognition and constraint recognition and carbon reduction behaviors. However, involvement and environmental guilty were influential on carbon reduction behaviors only when online activism was mediated among those variables. This indicated that for pro-environmental behaviors to effectively respond to problems related to global warming, it is essential to promote online communication behaviors among people who are exposed to solutions such as carbon reduction behaviors. Further endeavors are needed to encourage people’s participation in online communications about global warming and its various solutions of pro-environmental behaviors.
